strangeandwonderfulbooks.com is the brainchild of Sanctuary Rare Books, located in New York City. We are members of the A.B.A.A. (Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America and the I.L.A.B. (International League of Antiquarian Booksellers), and exhibit at a number of book fairs throughout the year that bring together the finest booksellers from these organizations.

Our office is located on Madison Avenue on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, where we are open by appointment only. We maintain a stock of rare and fine books in all fields, and welcome requests, as well as the opportunity to purchase new inventory.

We are now particularly interested in acquiring and promoting exceptional handwritten and one of a kind books of all kinds. This website is a celebration of the spirit behind these unique creations.
